I drew this alien while sitting in silence, somewhere between crying and overthinking. I had walked far that day. My backpack was heavy, but not as heavy as my brain or the voices it had from yesterdays conversertions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The sketch came out of nowhere \u2014 or maybe it came from everywhere. You know that moment where your body is quiet, but your thoughts are kicking like a mad Child? That.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The alien isn\u2019t scary. He looks like someone who\u2019s just been told, \u201cBe kind to yourself,\u201d only to be left alone 20 minutes later by the very person who said it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll keep in touch,\u201d they say, as if closeness can survive on signal alone.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cYou\u2019re not alone,\u201d but they pack up, and keep walking.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve started to realise that human contact<\/em> often feels more alien than silence. People mean well. But sometimes what they say echoes too loud in an empty space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This drawing was my way of answering all those polite phrases with a quiet,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t know if this counts as art. But it counted to me. And that day, it was enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\nWierdbutsoft<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n
